Promise of a Blue Sky ~ Streets of Hope by The National Arts Council, Singapore

 

This project was realised with the support of the National Arts Council Singapore to inject colour and vibrancy back to the city after the nationwide lockdown in 2020. A total of 153 artists were commissioned to present their works that became street banners along the city centre and business districts. 

 

Promise of a Blue Sky was my impression of the battle between hope and despair that weighed heavily in the atmosphere. It was difficult to embrace hope and optimism when the veil of death, racial tension and uncertainty almost blinded the future for all.
